The title of this post may sound familiar too some. That’s because it’s the exact same blog title of a blog post (by a Malaysian senior) that I read before coming to Singapore.
Didn’t sleep much 3 nights ago because I attended post-prom. Didn’t sleep much again 2 nights ago because I was busy packing for home.
The hostel was in a huge mess. I got back my $50 deposit in full despite there was once when we broke a glass from someone’s toilet while playing volleyball. I can’t believe that I actually kept the dirty plate and cup that they gave me 2 years ago (I didn’t use them though). I returned a torn bed sheet, and left some ‘footprints’ on the walls before leaving.
We (scholars) actually live(d) in the dirty single storey lodge in the photo above. Not the two blocks of apartment there. LL lives there though LOL.
Since welcoming me 2 years ago,
till the day I left 1 day ago, there were not much signs of improvement in terms of our non-material standard of living. I ate cabbage from the same lousy caterer for 2 years.
Just the night before I left, there was only ONE functioning dryer left in the male’s laundry room.
The one and only improvement (for 2 years) was the expanded study room.
Maybe I’m always complaining about this hostel because I’m still not used to living in a jungle for 2 years. But then, I’m not the only one.
Anyway, bye-bye McNair Lodge. I hate this place, I like my fellow borders. United Permas should consider putting this piece of land along McNair Road into better use.
